        Bespoke Courses for YOUR group

We are a new and exciting holiday centre offering Cultural Immersion Courses in Britain. We offer activities and recreational trips that will allow students to practice the English they have learnt with their teachers at home. They will enjoy visiting lots of new and exciting places while enjoying a variety of experiences.

In this fast changing world we have tried to look at innovative ways to strengthen students outlook on life and appreciate the wonderful world we live in, without the use of technology. As we are all aware Covid deprived many students (and adults alike) of the outside world, socialising and being out in the nature. We will give students the opportunity to enjoy the freedom of being outside while experiencing new activities without any pressure.

These courses include trips, activities and workshops.

These are just some of our activities workshops, programmes and trips. We are also happy to plan and design a programme requested by you. We have lots of flexibility.

        History

From Neolithic through to the formation and consolidation of the U.K to our modern day relations with our European neighbours and the rest of the world.

Our participants will study the importance of historical sites and visit them to experience their significance first hand.

        Cultural Immersion

As students stay with and live with local families they experience the British way of life from breakfast to bedtime.

What’s England’s favourite food? They’ll be surprised to learn that Fish n’ Chips is not the most popular dish in Britain.

        Ecology

Understanding the natural world and the challenges related to managing ecological issues through workshops, project presentations and organised visits. Workshops explore local eco themes linked to the sea/coast and Devon countryside, with unique insights provided by visits to the Tapeley Park sustainable country estate, Braunton Burrows (a UNESCO Biosphere) and the world-renowned Eden Project in Cornwall.

        Seaside and Cities

Our participants visit villages by the sea where traditional craft and watersports and commercial fishing still flourish.

They’ll visit our vast expanses of lovely moorland and country side whose beautiful scenery has inspired so many British artists and writers.

No visit would be complete without a trip to some of our cities with their castles, cathedrals and modern cafes.

        Drama

We use Drama Workshops to construct scenarios around chosen themes. For example, participants may write short plays about King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table before a visit to Tintagel Castle.

On a visit to the unique fishing village of Clovelly students may build a drama around happy incidents like record catches of fish.

The tradition of saving lives at sea is still important today and they may have the opportunity to visit one of our RNLI lifeboat stations.

On a visit to our local Leisure Centre there are possibilities to play 5 a side football, volleyball, badminton, basketball, tennis and swimming.

        Eva, Group Leader, Bilbao

"NDSE was a great finding! Our group of teenagers had the time of their lives in North Devon; they discovered a beautiful scenic area in England, learnt about lots of interesting topics and felt at home thanks to Angela and the team. We will definitely be coming back this year!"

Pavel & Adriana, Group Leaders, Romania

        "NDSE is an unforgettable experience!

The lessons on local traditions, the visits to interesting museums, along with the natural beauty of the region make the whole stay pleasurable and educational. The teachers and the organizers have always done their best to comply with our requests , while the host families have offered our students a pleasant stay, great care and nice meals. No wonder many of our students have come back more than once.

Thank you Angela, Roy, Hannah and all the wonderful people who put so much effort to make us feel like home, away from home!"

Ildiko Jakab & Kinga Nyuli, English teachers from Baktay Ervin Secondary Grammar School, Hungary

"We have been working together with NDSE for quite some time now, bringing group after group of students every year to charming Barnstaple. The kids in our groups have always been elated by the opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and the British way of life - thanks to the excellent teachers at school as well as the well-curated pool of host families. Besides having fun during the interactive lessons and the exciting afternoon trips, the students gained language skills as well as confidence necessary for using English in everyday settings as well as in exam situations."

        broken image

        Adriana Beletic, Group Leader, Croatia

"Is there a better testimonial than having the same students attending the course twice, even three times?!! But, apart from that, as an accompanying teacher for 25 years, I can say there have been tons of projects, interviews with locals, museum quizzes, scavanger hunts, evening activities in the families, Sunday family trips, King Arthur presentations in Tintagel, hikings, ocean swimming and surfing, skittle and disco nights and lots and lots of English practised in workshops and with native speakers in the families, in shops, on guided afternoon trips and tours, … All done in a relaxed, informal and, above all, fun way."
